Statute of Limitations in Courts and Prosecutor’s Offices cases
The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) collects and analyses decisions issued by prosecutor’s offices and courts in which proceedings are discontinued due to the expiration of the legally prescribed time limits for the statute of limitations in criminal and minor offence prosecutions.
Through this activity, oversight is conducted to determine the potential responsibility of judges and prosecutors for the expiration of the statute of limitations in criminal and minor offence cases. Additionally, this process ensures that prosecutor’s offices and courts properly record decisions to discontinue proceedings due to the statute of limitations in the Case Management System.
